The PGSO Legacy Campaign is the largest fundraiser in the 50-year history of the symphony. Our initial goal was to raise $500,000 over two years to help secure the future of the symphony for the next 50 years. We are happy to announce our extended goal of $1,000,000! You can contribute in any of three ways:
To enhance the quality of life of the people of Prince George region through the power and joy of live orchestral music.
Few cities of our size and location get their own symphony or an authentic arts culture. PGSO is the northernmost professional orchestra in Canada, and helps put Prince George on the map. And it’s a great hook for people thinking about moving here.
We like planting seeds in young people, helping them see how cool the world of orchestral music can be. Experiencing instruments up close and learning from pros, these are the moments that helped us learn and grow as musicians and music lovers. And it’s our privilege to return the favour through the Prince George Symphony Youth Orchestra, Family Concerts, in-school performances, Young Artist Concerto Competition, and our side-by-side program.
The symphony is committed to being accessible for the entire community through our $30 under 30 program, free live and video content for schools, and cooperation with organization like the Prince George Conservatory of Music.
PGSO is a great value for the price compared to a big city orchestra or headliner. (Of course, we get stoked about acts like Mellencamp, Brad Paisley and Sarah McLachlan, too.)
"Our family has enjoyed the PGSO Performances over many years and it makes a difference when you trust in the work of the PGSO and the PG Community Foundation. Knowing that our donations support people in our own backyard means a lot to us."
