Dots on a Page - Amateur chamber music program
Prince George Symphony Youth Orchestra
Orchestra North Summer Program
Prince George Symphony Orchestra
Do you play an orchestral instrument? Are you looking for an opportunity to play chamber music? Do you like pizza?
Register now for our new program, “Dots on a Page!”
We have partnered with Omenica Arts Centre and the City of Prince George in this initiative to celebrate amateur music-making through a series of sight-reading parties, coaching, and performance opportunities.
Former PGSO concertmaster José Delgado-Guevara will lead the program.
Registrants will be sorted into groups to sight-read music appropriate for each playing level. Participants are also encouraged to bring their own music! Both individual musicians and pre-formed groups are welcome to participate. The parties will be focused on sight-reading and be a relaxed environment - all experience levels are encouraged! And if you're not sure you want to play, bring your instrument but feel free to just socialize and enjoy.
After the party, those who would like to keep playing will be encouraged to form groups to work toward a performance later in the year. Professional coaching will be provided. Rehearsals can take place in a member's home, or the PGSO can provide rehearsal space as needed.
There will be three different parties to attend before the end of the PGSO’s season. All parties will take place at Omineca Arts Centre at 6:45pm. :
This program will culminate with an opportunity to perform at the Prince George Symphony Youth Orchestra (PGSYO) concert on May 31st, 2024.
A registration fee of $10 will be charged with registration for each party to cover food.
Orchestral instruments are as follows. If you do not see your instrument listed, please confirm suitability prior to registration.:
