PGSO Board Chair, Roy Stewart is pleased to announce the appointment of Ken Hall as its Executive Director effective May 1, 2021. “This is an important milestone in the life of the PGSO,” said Stewart,” and is the culmination of five months hard work by the Board’s Search Committee.”
Mr. Hall is a professional musician and has twenty years of experience in arts administration, the last sixteen with the Canadian Children’s Opera Company (CCOC) in Toronto. He held several positions of increasing responsibility with the CCOC, the last five years of which he was Managing Director. He has a strong background in all key areas of performing arts production and management. Mr. Hall, who was raised in Calgary, is looking forward to moving back west and taking on this key role for the PGSO.
Hall replaces outgoing General Manager Teresa Saunders whose leadership over the past five years have put the PGSO in a strong position as it celebrates its 50th Anniversary.
Saunders commented: “One of the highlights of my work has been the partnership with our Maestro, Michael Hall (no relation to Ken Hall) over the past four years. Our Maestro is an extremely gifted and collaborative Music Director and It has been a pleasure working with him to advance his exciting musical vision for the PGSO. I am confident that “Hall and Hall” will be an excellent senior management team and continue to provide strong leadership to the organization.”
